Things to remember:
Homework: The menu will be set during the first week of each half term and due in on the last Monday of the half term to allow time to share the children's work. Mymaths and SPAG.com wil be set on Wednesday to be returned on Monday on alternating weeks.
Reading: The children are expected to read at least three times per week for 10 per minutes and to change their reading book in the mornings regularly. Please write a comment in the children’s reading records each time to let us know how they are getting on with their reading at home.
Spelling: Spellings are no longer sent home but are taught in school. We encourage the children to use new spellings in their literacy homework. Year 4 spellings can be found inside their reading records.
PE: Mr Cairns will be teaching PE on a Tuesday morning. The children will also have an additional PE lesson on Thursday which is led by Miss Dryhurst and Mr Harris. Please make sure you have your kit every Tuesday and Thursday.
Mrs Gatiss will be teaching Year 4 French on a Tuesday.
Water Bottles: We encourage the children to bring a water bottle each day, please ensure it is only water. If your child is having a packed lunch please send a separate drink.
Parent Helpers: We welcome parent helpers. We mainly use helpers to hear the children read. If you are interested in helping please speak to your child's teacher.
Class Assembly: Your child will be involved in a class assembly once every half term. You will be notified of the dates on the whole school newsletter.
We are very much looking forward to getting to know you and your chidlren over the next year. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to come and speak to us at the end of the day.
